Yeah. My planet.

[Former planet, she thinks, unbidden.]

And no, thanks. Not feeling very thirsty tonight.

Yeah, loads.

[She says it with an air of obvious overconfidence. It's true that she's been to her fair share of parties in strange places, but the jury's still out on whether everything is alright.]

I visited a planet once that hadn't stopped partying for two hundred years. Spent a week there, and I'm not sure the hangover's ever gone fully away.

Nah, their planet was mostly salt mines.

[Salt mines and booze.]

And I'd have to say my home, Earth. Everything looks its best once you've left it behind.

Very much like them, I'd say.

[The physical similarity of planets is all down to science, of course, but the real comparisons are made with the people. And from what she's seen, the people here aren't much different from those back in the good old United Kingdom.]

It's really big, though. There are parts that look like this world, parts that look more like the space station, and everything in between.

Neither. I'm not really one for picking sides.

[She much prefers to be a neutral observer, whenever circumstances allow, helping out where she sees fit. Her allegiance doesn't rest with anything but the perpetuation of what's right.]

You?

Your family's here?

[She seems cheered a bit by the thought.]

[A quiet shake of her head. Her expression is mournful at the edges, but she doesn't want to bring the mood too far down.]

Nah. They were all on my home planet. But we'd parted ways before the storm even came.
oddbod: (and they sat quiet for awhile)

[She shakes her head, trying not to look too sad. This is a party, after all.]

I have a friend in stasis, but that seems to be all.

[A dismissive shrug. She sort of wishes she still had her drink, so she could occupy her hands with the glass.]

Acquaintances, mainly. A few coworkers. No one I'd stop off at the pub with, really.

Well-spoken. Very leaderly.

[She smiles, thin and amused.]
