Background: Wiki
Suitability: Jon is a natural leader and often finds himself thrust into situations where he is called upon to protect people and fight in wars that he might normally try to avoid. In canon, when he is helping to defend the Wall, he is put in charge of the forces and leads the men into battle. One of the examples of Jon being drawn into a political situation not his own is when he takes up the cause of the Freefolk. He only lived among them for a short time, but he becomes an advocate for them and helps them move south of the Wall to save their lives. He even fights the Others alongside them at Hardhome, saving as many people as he can.
In this game, Jon will likely understand that his time here is something he should take advantage of, and while he's tired of fighting, he's likely to be drawn into the conflict in one way or another. I don't know yet which side he will fall on, but he will fall into one and try to recruit more people to the cause. He certainly will explore a bit to get a sense of the world and the people, as he was introduced to that concept with the Freefolk. When he learns about people falling sick, he'll do what he can to aid them.
He's very kindhearted and has a large sense of honor, so he's not someone to stand on the sidelines when people are suffering. If anything, I expect for him to have a number of soldiers and recruits that he will oversee, acting as a general.
Powers: Jon is considered one of the best swordsmen in Westeros and well trained in combat. He's a skilled survivalist and shows talent in strategy. Otherwise, he's an ordinary human.
PERSONALITY QUESTIONS
Describe an important event in your character's life and how it impacted them. I honestly think that Jon's life in general impacts him. Being a bastard, he's always grown up as an outsider. He's had to deal with scorn and mockery, being treated as if he were less than other people. It meant that he had to work harder and better to achieve anything. The whole reason he joined the Night's Watch was because he was told that a man earns his position due to skill, rather than birth. When he is later named King in the North, it comes at the tail end of a hard fought battle, one he almost lost. He's suddenly being called a hero and lauded for his actions. One of the leaders of his bannermen even dismisses the idea that he's a bastard, saying that he has the same worth as any of his trueborn siblings. He's accepted for himself in that moment and it gives him a great deal of confidence going forward.
One of the other moments to impact his life is oddly his death. He was killed at the Wall by his own men for letting the Freefolk south of the Wall. Men he trusted and that he viewed as friends lured him to the courtyard where they stabbed him with daggers. He was then resurrected by Melisandre, a priestess of the Lord of Light. The event was extremely disturbing for him. We see through facial reactions that at first he doesn't understand what happened until he sees his scars and has a full blown panic attack. Being brought back to life stayed with him, haunted him. He questioned the things he did and the decisions he made, feeling like a failure. He also comes to fear death as well in a sense because of the nothingness he saw there. Meeting the void again when he is brought to game will take him back to that moment.
Does your character have a moral code, or other set of standards they try to live by? He has a very strong moral code that he learned from his father. Jon has a rigid sense of honor he lives by. While he has broken some of those rules, namely bedding a woman outside of marriage and breaking his vows to the Night's Watch, he holds firm to the rest. He does what he can to uphold the law, following the ancient Northern tradition of "he who passes the sentence swings the sword." He is uncompromising one lying, even in situations where it would help his cause and be largely advised. He nearly costs an alliance in the Great War because he refuses not to take a side in the battle between Daenerys and Cersei, having already pledged his fealty to Dany.
He learned as well the value of not judging other cultures based on the misconceptions and prejudices he grew up with. Ygritte was a large influence in this, using "You know nothing Jon Snow" as a reminder that he didn't see things clearly about the Freefolk or their way of life. She introduced him to their culture and found the means to open him up to new ways of thinking. With Tormund, he learned to respect those that were different from him and found more loyalty in the Freefolk than he did Northerners. It is why he is willing so often to come to the aid of those that need it without question. He learned that such gestures can win a great deal of respect and allies. Tormund especially helped to shape him into a leader, convincing him often to take charge. The more he worked alongside the Freefolk, the more his mind opened and he became self reliant, confident and stronger.
What quality or qualities do they admire most? Honesty, loyalty, justice and kindness. He tends to be caught off guard by anyone who isn't cynical and truly believes in goodness. He might worry they are naïve, but he would want to protect that instinct, as he's seen so much darkness in the world. Those that are brave and willing to fight, no matter the disadvantage that they're at, he is drawn to as well. He really admires Lyanna Mormont, despite her being a young girl, she is willing to help in the Battle of the Bastards, believing him about the Others and the Night King.
These are things he admires in the Freefolk as well, having seen them rally around someone who champions their cause and looks after them. He sees as well the potential for different sides to come together to form a united front that is almost unbeatable. It's why he returns to the Freefolk again and again for help, as he knows they will give it because of his aid to them.
Daenerys is the epitome of everything he believes a ruler should be. She wants to be on the front lines, to fight alongside her men. She is helpful and caring to her people, willing to do whatever she can for their benefit. That she even puts aside her ambitions to fight for the North without any guarantee of something in return, that is the moment that Jon puts aside being king and bends the knee to Dany, swearing fealty.
Do they have a part of themselves they dislike? Jon would probably argue much about himself, he doesn't like, but he's grown a lot more since his boyhood. He's still self deprecating and doesn't think he's very special. As much as he's grown thicker skin about being a bastard, no longer letting the taunts bother him, I think the lack of knowledge about his identity and past still bothers him. He doesn't know anything about his mother and his childhood weighs on him. He was never treated the same as his brothers and sisters and never had a comforting influence. Even his father was largely distant in a way, only telling Jon that he was a Stark when he was leaving for the Wall.
All of his failures hang heavily on him. His broken vows, his lost loves and the mistakes he made. It's why he never talks about his death. He would have to revisit the decisions he made that lead to it and later his execution of his murderers, which didn't really feel like justice for him. All of that makes him a introspective person and one who is withdrawn from others.
What is their sign, and why? The Emperor. Jon is a military person and a natural leader. He's steady, reliable and responsible, wanting the best for people and trying to ensure their stability. In the Game of Thrones tarot, this was one of the major signs assigned to Jon. He falls under a man that is a hard worker, disciplined and has a great deal of self control. There's no better fit for him.

Name: Jon Snow Door: Door Pass (Dominant) Canon: Game of Thrones Canon Point: 7x06 Age: 24 Appearance: Medium height, muscular, dark hair tied back into a bun, a full beard. There are small scars on his face, once across his left eye. The deepest scars on his chest, left over from when he was murdered. History: Wiki Personality: The word that is most often used to describe Jon is "brooding." Much like his adopted father, Jon bears a grim countenance to the world. Living as a bastard in the north shaped him into someone with little reason to smile and a great series of walls around himself. There are instances when he smiles and laughs, but these moments are generally brought out by his close friends. In fact, when Jon actually makes a joke in Season 6, his friend Edd responds, "You sure that's you in there?" Like all Starks, Jon has a deeply rooted sense of honor. It compels him to come to the aid of those who are in need and act in ways that can be interpreted as "naive" or "foolish." One of the best examples occurred in Season 6 during "the Battle of the Bastards". Despite being warned that his adversary, Ramsay Bolton, enjoyed toying with people and Jon should not fall into his trap, that is what happened. Ramsay had Rickon (Jon's "half-brother") run across the battlefield as he shot arrows at the boy, barely missing him. Rather than stand by, Jon rode out to meet his brother, only to be left stranded away from his army and in a vulnerable position for attack. Honor also sent him into a cycle of self guilt (something that he has only recently managed to shake.) He held his vows for the Night's Watch seriously, even viewing his taking a lover as a betrayal to that oath. This is in spite of the fact that men in the Watch often have lovers. He also turns down the chance to be legitimized by Stannis Baratheon and reclaim Winterfell, despite this being something that he has wanted since he was a boy. He instead turns it down because of the vows he made and the honor that compels him to stay. It's his practicality that leads him to put aside long standing grudges that have existed in the north for generations. Men in the Night's Watch had been trained to fight the Wildlings and to hate them fiercely. Jon, however, recognizing the overlying threat to the realm, as well as getting to know the free folk personally, sets aside this bias and helps to relocate thousands of them south of the Wall. He is fully aware that some of his actions will divide others, as well as gain censure, however he follows what he believes is the right course. It's something that he discussed once with Maester Aemon when speaking about Ned Stark. "If the day should ever come where your lord father must choose between honor on the one hand and those he loves on the other, what would he do?" "He would do what is right. No matter what." This is a path he follows, even when he wants to walk away from it all. After being resurrected, Jon is pushed by Sansa to reclaim Winterfell and the north. Jon protests, claiming he is tired of fighting. In the end, he agrees because he believes it is the right course to take, not for his family, but also in facing the Others. He is often impetuous, sometimes charging head first into a fight or decision without consulting others or thinking about the consequences. This is shown in Season 7 when he receives an invitation from Tyrion to go to Dragonstone and meet Daenerys. He announces his decision to go before his court and sister, not having warned them or consulted them before deciding to go. This leads to an argument between Sansa and Jon about his judgement. This also appears in battles. In reclaiming Winterfell, when Jon sees Rickon in danger, he charges out into the open, in range of Ramsay's archers, trying to rescue him. This leads to Rickon being killed by Ramsay and Jon's battle strategy falling apart. He's hard headed and stubborn, following what he thinks is right, whether it is wise or not. Rather than submit to Daenerys and accepting her as his queen and the help she offered in exchange, Jon held out, claiming his people wouldn't accept a Southron ruler. He slowly recognizes that Daenerys is a good queen, but he still holds out. It leads Daenerys to point out that it was more about his pride than anything else. When he finally does bend the knee, it's only after nearly dying in trying to retrieve a Wight and after Daenerys lost a dragon in rescuing him. However, even that acceptance comes with its own stubbornness. He doesn't lie when it's needed. Cersei tells him to agree not to participate in the war between her and Daenerys. He refuses, revealing to everyone that he bent the knee to Daenerys and calls her his queen. Because of that honesty and stubbornness not to lie, he jeopardizes a cease fire and potential truce. He will follow his sense of honor, even if it costs him everything because he refuses to follow any other path than the one he believes. However, his most enduring legacy is that he is "a man that knows nothing." There is a great deal of naivety in Jon that stems not only from his youth, but also the rigid upbringing he had under Ned Stark. He expects others to act a certain way, honorable and just, much like the other Stark children. It's what keeps him from seeing how low and cruelly some men are willing to sink. He lived by a certain code in the Night's Watch, but he was betrayed and killed by his brothers. He expected Ramsay to wage war in the same manner that all men do in the realm, which made him susceptible to Ramsay's tricks and guerrilla war tactics. Even still, after being resurrected and named king, he doesn't seem to grasp how underhanded the game of thrones can be. He doesn't suspect the influence that Littlefinger might have had on Sansa or the potential danger among his men. More pronounced than that though is the certain noble quality that speaks to men. Jon is regarded as a leader, able to inspire men and rally them to his cause. Despite being young, he is named as Lord Commander of the Night's Watch by most of the men. They turned to him during various times of danger, including when the Wall was under attack. Even his bastard status (something that lowers him in noble society) doesn't prevent the men of the north from naming him their king. He bears the qualities of a leader, something that is rarely seen in the show, and only by one other character (Daenerys). Despite this, he remains humble and often self deprecating. "I'm not a Stark", he often says, forever carrying that weight about his shoulders that makes him more of a Stark than he'll admit. Powers and Abilities: Jon is considered one of the best swordsmen in Westeros and well trained in combat. He's a skilled survivalist and shows talent in strategy. Inventory: Jon will be arriving with his fur cloak, Longclaw (his Valyrian steel sword), and Ghost (his white direwolf.) Samples: Door Pass |

*Backtagging: Generally yes. I'm sometimes slow, especially when work picks up, so I don't mind backtagging.
*Threadhopping: Absolutely. Just give me a quick heads up.
*Fourth Walling: I'd prefer not, in this case. There's a lot of messed up things in canon already to screw with his head, having someone know all the details of his life might be a bit too much for him.
*Friending: Of course! I'm at
ladylils
*Canon Warning: Game of Thrones is a dark series. It's a show full of different trigger warnings, including violence, incest, animal death, rape, cannibalism and extremely angsty subjects. Jon won't really talk about a lot of this, save for the mention that some loved ones have died, but little else unless prompted. Just give me a heads up if there is anything you want to avoid and I'll make sure to avoid the topic with him.
*IC =/= OOC: Communication is key for me. The last thing I want is for there to be misunderstandings or problems to develop. RP is meant to be fun. Feel free to talk to me at any point, even if it seems small.
IC
*Platonic Physical Contact: If you are family, then yes. Otherwise, Jon isn't really one to hug or touch overly much. He's one of those strong and serious types. I welcome attempts for people to hug him, but the result will mainly be an awkward reaction.
*Romantic/Sexual Physical Contact: Jon is a slow burn shipper. He lost his first and only love not that long ago and is still suffering from the pain of that. Now that his death has past, I think it's possible for him to open up enough to let someone in, but it's not going to be a quick thing. A trust has to develop and the person really has to have a strong connection with him. This is something I'd love to discuss more at length, if there is an interest, but it will be a bit of a journey.
*Violent Physical Contact: If you punch him (and are not a woman), he'll punch you back. Jon's been trained as a warrior and will fight, if needed. I absolutely welcome altercations and misunderstandings. Jon seems to invite trouble.
*Mindreading: Talk to me first.
*Killing/Death: This would require a plot and a chat about what will go down. He's died before and been brought back, it would be a difficult for him to go through it again. I'm open to putting him through the ringer, but I'd like to have a game plan in mind.

Powers Permission
The Crow: Being a Stark, Jon feels things deeply and broods often. This power would allow him to influence the emotions of others in three particular ways. He can influence others to feel depression/sadness/brooding, extreme anger, or rally their courage. It would only influence either a particular person or a small radius (10 feet at least) and it only lasts for a short period of time.
Basically, Jon will be able to manipulate emotions in three ways, but only for those in proximity of him. If you want to opt out of this, please let me know. If your character has an ability that might conflict with or cancel out Jon's ability, just give me a heads up.
I'm at
*Canon Warning: Game of Thrones is a dark series.

〈 CHARACTER INFO 〉
CHARACTER NAME: Jon Snow
CHARACTER AGE: 21
SERIES: Game of Thrones (I mix both show and books canon, but rely more heavily on the show more often.)
CHRONOLOGY: End of Season 6
CLASS: Hero with brooding Batman syndrome
HOUSING: If possible, I'd like for him to be placed in De Chima, Virginia. I'm open to any sort of housing and roommates.
BACKGROUND:
Game of Thrones is based off of the medieval fantasy novels A Song of Ice and Fire. Jon is a main character in both the show and the books. I have a provided a wiki to both here: (show and books).
PERSONALITY:
The word that is most often used to describe Jon is "brooding." Much like his adopted father, Jon bears a grim countenance to the world. Living as a bastard in the north shaped him into someone with little reason to smile and a great series of walls around himself. There are instances when he smiles and laughs, but these moments are generally brought out by his close friends. In fact, when Jon actually makes a joke in Season 6, his friend Edd responds, "You sure that's you in there?"
Like all Starks, Jon has a deeply rooted sense of honor.
He expected Ramsay to wage war in the same manner that all men do in the realm, which made him susceptible to Ramsay's tricks and guerilla war tactics.
POWER:
Ghost: One of the six direwolf pups found at the beginning of the show. Ghost is Jon's companion and the wolf he raised, the pair sharing a deep bond (to the extent that Ghost anticipated when Jon was coming back to life). Direwolves are larger than average wolves, near the height of normal men. Ghost is an albino wolf with red eyes that moves silently like a ghost (appropriately named).
He attacks anyone that threatens Jon and fights alongside him whenever Jon goes to battle. For those that Jon views as friends, Ghost guards them as well, a major example being when he saved Samwell when he was being attacked by a few men of the Night's Watch.
Ghost and Jon are near inseparable, where one goes, the other is not far behind.
Warging: Like many of the Stark children, Jon is able to skinchange primarily into Ghost. In "dreams", he can see through Ghost's eyes and control his movements. It's because of the bond that he and Ghost share that it is possible, as this is a key factor in warging. In canon, he is unaware of his ability, but when he arrives in game, he'll be able to warg more easily and consciously.
〈 CHARACTER SAMPLES 〉
COMMUNITY POST (VOICE) SAMPLE:
[The struggle to turn the device is, thankfully, unseen by the network. When the screen finally comes to life, Jon appears stoic and calm, brooding heavily as always.]
If you want to survive in any new environment, it is important to know your surroundings and learn from those that understand this sort of world. [He learned that the hard way at the Wall and among the free folk.] This place and the items in it are unfamiliar to me, as are the customs and people. I don't understand a great deal about what we are, but I know we are expected to wage a war.
[There is a grimace on his face.]
I have no choice but to appeal to those that know this world better than I do. I am at a disadvantage. I need to learn about the war that is being waged, to hear it from those who would know better and speak more honestly than those that brought us here. My name is Jon Snow and so long as there are those that will fight for me, so will I fight for you.

FINAL NOTES: Jon will be bringing a few items with him. He'll have his Stark cloak that Sansa made for him, as well as his Valryian steel sword "Long Claw".
